Social Development department reiterates determination to increasing SASSA grants

Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assistance and dedication to improving upon South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) providers in the course of an engagement while using the agency's senior professionals in a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric exams.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered with the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% of the registered pupils within the schooling sector.
These learners reached a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means the expense government is building while in the lives of weak and susceptible little ones is yielding a positive affect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
